Executive Director, NASCAR Foundation

 


Sandy Marshall joined NASCAR in August 2003 as NASCAR’s Community Relations Manager, responsible for overseeing NASCAR’s philanthropic efforts and assisting the industry’s community relations interests.  On August 20, 2004, under Ms. Marshall’s direction, the Community Relations Department launched the first annual NASCAR Day, which now serves as a nationwide celebration for NASCAR fans and fundraiser for the NASCAR Foundation and select children’s charities.


In January ’06, Mrs. Marshall was named Executive Director of the newly formed NASCAR Foundation.  The NASCAR Foundation embodies the compassion of the NASCAR Family and its commitment to serving communities. The NASCAR Foundation seeks to raise funds and increase volunteerism to support nonprofit charities and charitable causes throughout the nation with an emphasis placed on initiatives that affect the ability of children to live, learn and play.


Since 2006, The NASCAR Foundation has helped provide medical treatment for more than 20,000 children annually at Speediatrics, fulfilled more than 500  NASCAR Dreams, sent more than 1,000 kids to Victory Junction camp, recruited 12,000 fans to become part of a Volunteer Network and created educational opportunities for school-aged students that help to engage them in science and engineering programs.


Mrs. Marshall has spent the past fourteen years in non-profit management including work with the American Heart Association and Easter Seals; she is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).  She resides in Charlotte with her husband Kinnon and daughters Ellie and Ivy and is active in the community serving on non-profit boards and volunteering.
