St. Louis Rams’ La’Roi Glover Plays a New Position…as a Big Brother

ST. LOUIS – In October 2007, the St. Louis Rams defensive tackle, La’Roi Glover, joined forces with Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri in the “Tackle the Issues” campaign to bolster volunteer recruitment and help put
thousands of area boys and girls in touch with much needed mentors.  Now, the six time Pro-Bowler, La’Roi
Glover, takes his commitment to mentoring to a new level by becoming a Big Brother to ten year old Ronald.

When La’Roi and Little Brother Ronald first met they hit it off immediately.  In no time they were sharing smiles and
laughs.  They are both excited about watching sports together, playing video games, jumping on the trampolines at
Skyzone, and most of all becoming the best of friends.  La’Roi is no stranger to mentoring, having experienced first-
hand how teachers, coaches, and friends have all helped him achieve success.  He looks forward to sharing his
talents and time with his Little Brother Ronald and helping him achieve his dream of becoming a firefighter.

Via “Tackle the Issues,” the dynamic sack artist wants to help eliminate the Big Brothers Big Sisters 500-child
waiting list.  The list is mainly comprised of African-American children, with 80 percent being African-American
boys.  Additionally, Glover will help raise funds to support Big Brothers Big Sisters programming, as well as the
scholarship fund that bears his name.  He will be an ambassador for Big Brothers Big Sisters by spreading the
word about the organization’s good works.

For more than one hundred years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been one of the most effective youth-service
groups in the United States.  It is the oldest and largest mentoring organization in the country, serving young
people nationwide.  Its mission is to provide a mentor for every child who wants and needs one.  Its vision is to
change the lives of children for the better, forever. Volunteer today by calling 314-361-5900 or going to www.
