In August 1999, La’Roi Glover announced the establishment of The La’Roi Glover Foundation.
As a longtime resident of San Diego, six-time Pro Bowl player and Defensive Tackle for the Rams, La’Roi Glover established the La’Roi Glover Foundation in 1999 to provide scholarships for high school and college students in San Diego; work with the San Diego community to provide for individuals and families in need; and support nonprofit organizations that assist deserving children in achieving their educational goals. The Foundation provides two annual scholarships to graduates of Point Loma High School, La’Roi’ s Alma Mater.
Over the next few years, the Foundation plans to increase the number of scholarships distributed, as well as develop a mentoring program to increase the likelihood of the students’ professional success after their college careers. Eventually, the Foundation hopes to build an endowment that will provide at least 16 scholarships each year (4 renewable scholarships a year) based on the students’ college grades and performance.
La’Roi’s Foundation benefits children in the cities where he has lived and played football. His interests range from providing scholarship awards at the high school and University levels, to supporting children's hospitals.
La’Roi has a history of giving back to the community. He was nominated the Saints "Man of the Year" and "Unsung Hero“ in 1999.
