"God has created us to be a people of high standards, great character, with ethical morals and values.  There comes a time when we must challenge ourselves to reach a new level spiritually.  God has given us a unique platform 'basketball' to teach about His standards for our lives.  We want young people to grow spiritually and experience positive influences"- Charlie Ward

The aWard Foundation was established in 2001 by NBA veteran point guard Charlie Ward, currently of the San Antonio Spurs and former NY Knick along with his wife Tonja Ward.  The Foundation's goal is to enhance the lives of young people through sports based mentoring and educational programs.

The aWard Foundation currently hosts The Charlie Ward Basketball Camp for Boys in Erie, PA; The Charlie Ward Basketball Camp for Girls in Riverdale, NY; and the Charlie Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls in Thomasville, GA.  These Camps are entering their 8th year of summer programming, enriching the lives of young people.

Over 80% of the campers enrolled are recipients of financial assistance to cover the cost of the camp.  The aWard Foundation makes grants to support these camps to ensure that cost never prevents a child from attending camp.  Your gifts and support will help guarantee that this opportunity is available on an ongoing basis.

The aWard Foundation is a member of The Giving Back Fund family of charities.  The Giving Back fund is a national non-profit organization that helps professional athletes, entertainers and others establish and maintain charitable foundations for philanthropy.
