To Empower the Next Generation of Giving
On the evening of the event, the three selected charities will pitch to the audience and Shark who will question the charities about their cause, organization, business model and impact, plus more.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- 10 volunteer committee members organize a charity event (1 x venue, 3 x charities, 1 x Shark, food & drink)
- Each committee member invites at least 10 of his or her friends to make a $100 pledge (or more) to attend the event (10×10… get it?) creating a pool of at least $10K.
- Upon arrival, each attendee is given ‘Charity Dollars’ equal to the value of their “Pledge”
- On the evening of the event, the three selected charities will pitch to the audience and Shark who will question the charities about their cause, organization, business model and impact, plus more.
- Each attendee then decides directly who they want to give their ‘Charity Dollars’ to.
- Charities receive 100% of the funds raised minus a 10% project fee to 10×10 to cover admin and overhead costs.
- You will then receive a tax-deductible receipt 4-6 weeks from the charity post the event.
Batey Girls – Every purchase empowers and employs women and girls at risk of sex trafficking and domestic violence in the Dominican Republic.
Bate Girls was established by the nonprofit organization; Batey Rehab Project, to provide economic opportunities for women and girls at risk of sex trafficking and domestic violence in the Dominican Republic. This program was inspired by the true story of a nonprofit founder who witnessed parents selling their teenage daughters for sex, in order to feed their family. It was created by the women and girls of Batey Milton providing an opportunity to begin new lives, and break free from the cycle of poverty. As a result of this program, a jewelry brand was born! It is one that you can be proud to wear, knowing that you are part of our mission to empower women and girls both internationally and here in the USA.
