Global COVID-19 Relief Coalition
The Global COVID-19 Relief Coalition (GCRC) is working to create impactful solutions to address the challenges of COVID-19.
The CGRC has three major initiatives:
Providing PPE for hospitals in low resource, high need areas. In the United States, adequate PPE for healthcare workers is a human rights issue, and in low resource hospitals around the world, PPE shortages could mean a temporary or permanent loss of healthcare services for hundreds of thousands of people. We have partnerships with high need hospitals and access to top suppliers and secure logistics to ensure that disposable and reusable PPE gets in the hands of those that need it most. Our first priority is to serve Zanzibar and preserve their healthcare system. We are also interested in helping Zambia, Mexico, and other countries with additional funds.
A hackathon, empowering the most creative COVID-19 solutions with resources, mentors, and the tools to deploy. See our completed 16-week hackathon hosted in partnership with Cornell University Entrepreneurship and the NIH here: https://collective.round.
A “Free the IP” campaign to temporarily open IP that is urgently needed to address COVID-19 → GCRC members joined forces with lawyers and scientists at Stanford, UC Berkeley, University of Utah, Creative Commons, DLA Piper, Helpful Engineering, and University of Cambridge to create a patent pledge to share intellectual property for the sake of the pandemic. www.opencovidpledge.org
Having completed Initiatives 2 & 3, your gift at this time will help us keep high need hospitals and communities functioning through this crisis by protecting healthcare workers.
